The community of Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland, is mourning the loss of Sarah Egan, who passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry.

Sarah’s death has brought immense sadness to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Remembered for her warmth, kindness, and caring nature, she touched countless lives through her work, friendships, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She was the dearly loved daughter of John and Bridget Egan and a treasured sister to Stephanie, Chris, Mark, and Darragh. Her loss is deeply felt by her entire family, including her sister-in-law Sarah, brother-in-law Daithí, her beloved nieces and nephews Jack, Oisín, Isabelle, A.J., Daisy, and baby Fionn, as well as her extended family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

Sarah was a valued member of the team at Mercy Pre-School, where her gentle nature and dedication to children made her a beloved figure among families and coworkers alike.
