The Stamford community is grieving the loss of Nicola “Nic” Tarzia, a lifelong resident, businessman, and community leader whose passing has left many heartbroken.
For decades, Nic was a familiar and respected face throughout Stamford. As the founder of the Tarzia Group, he built a successful local business through hard work, determination, and a genuine belief in giving back to the city that helped shape him. But those closest to him say his greatest legacy wasn’t business — it was people.
Nic cared deeply about Stamford and spent much of his life involved in causes that supported local families, students, and the future of the city. He worked with organizations including SPEF, Dollars for Scholars, and the Tarzia Foundation, while also serving on the Board of Education.
